explosions in the 8th grade!

Lighting wooden splints on fire and igniting hydrogen gas collected in test tubes does create an explosion (but don't worry, it's a small one) accompanied by a loud pop. Left, an eighth grader helps her teacher collect the gas, and right, testing for the presence of hydrogen.
